A Slice of Florida: Movie Magic In Europe?!
This article really came as a slight epiphany, after researching and looking into a trip around some European parks this summer, I was amazed the see the amount and quality of the parks that ( being from the UK) we have on our doorstep!
Today I wanted to ask the question of, are some of the parks in Europe, able to give a slice and feel of some of the huge parks in Florida?
My case and point being Universal Studios.
Many people see these parks as the mecca of movie parks, and in terms of investment and quality they are!
But there are also other parks that ( for many members of the general public ) are perhaps, closer, cheaper and more accessible, that give a very similar feel.
So I wanted to state my argument, by looking at two parks in Europe.
Movie Park Germany and Parque Warner in Madrid.
Braking this down into 3 main points:
How the parks feel?
Any big shows?
of course their parades!
These are all things that we don't see a lot of, outside of the parks in the US... Unless your in these parks.
Now I am in no way saying that Universal and these two parks are a direct comparison, more that they can give a similar feel!
so lets go!....

Theming / Park Feel
Movie Park Germany ( MPG ) has some incredible theming, one attraction here that stands out in 'Van Helsings Factory'.
even the show building looks like something out of a Disney studio style park!
just looking at the amount of theming that goes into MPG's attractions and park is stunning, and not far of something you would see in the states!
In the case of Parque Warner, its the movie studio style streets that sets the tone! With stunt vehicles parked around, streets lined with palm trees and film set style façades, it truly gives off the feel that your in Hollywood!
Big Shows
Something that has been lacking in Uk parks and perhaps in the general sweep of European parks is big stunt spectaculars or stadium style shows!
It is almost expected that when you enter a US movie park (or any park for that matter) that your day will be accompanied by a big show. However this just doesn't happen that often in European parks.
Well in MPG we have an enormous stunt show, featuring cops and robbers, car chases and fire, very similar to 'Light's, Motor, Action' at Disneyland Paris or back in the day at Hollywood Studios.
This is such a fantastic thing to see, that big style entertainment has not been spared.
in regards to Parque Warner, you can join in the stunt spectator over at their Gothem City stage, featuring a famous bat and friends!
Another great example, where the parks have thought about how to offer the best in quality!
Parades
Finally, I want to quickly touch on Parades, again a staple in US parks, that can so easily get lost or dismissed.
But at both parks we have famous characters, within cars and floats, with great soundtracks to accompany them!
Wrap Up
So there we have it, a quick article today to just highlight some of the great offerings that are out there, if you didn't want top travel all the way across the pond.
Have you been to the parks? What did you think?
