COLLAB: @captaincoaster95 and @coastersamblog Talk Hansa Park
Welcome to a very exciting collab article with @captain.coaster95 and myself @coastersamblog.
When initially chatting over instagram we both released we shared a love of German theme parks. With so many parks to choose from, we decided to focus on Hansa Park.
So in this joint article, we are going to be splitting it up into two sections.
@captain.coaster95 is going to be focusing on the attractions and coasters, while Im going to be looking at the theming of the park, and highlighting some of the most spectacular areas!
So lets dive in!
Theming/ Areas:
So first things first, this park has A LOT of areas! Nested within a countryside backdrop, but also uniquely by the coast, this park boasts some beautiful areas and views.
Split into 11, yes thats, 11 different areas, we have the following:
Adventureland
Old Time Fair
Bonanza City
The Realms Of The North
Hansa Garden
The Hanseatic league
Lumberjack's Camp
Children's World
Land Of the Vikings
Water Fun
As much as I would love to go through ALL 11 lands with a fine tooth comb, during the week, I simply don't have the energy!
But I am going to highlight some areas which I think Perhaps stand out, above the rest.
Adventure Land
This is a classic take on the theme, Ivy heavy, green and wild plants, waterfalls and exotic fountains all combined to create this heavily immersive area.
It's also home to the Park's wild mouse! Yet another familiar sight within theme parks that have this kind of land or area, overall a solid theme and area!
The Realms Of The North
While this may seem a bit... scarce in what is physically in the area or land itself, you can't help but feel that was an intentional decision!
All the attention here is on the famous coaster, "The Oath Of Karnon"
This Coaster towers over everything, with the enormous concealed lift hill! This gives the coaster the reign of the land, its imposing and magnificent!
Lumberjack Camp
So finally Im going to touch on this area, it's a little smaller then the others, but still holds some great elements of theming. With a Canadian feel, as the name would suggest, we start to notice a lot more use of wood, within the architecture and surrounding areas.
This is also home to a couple of great attractions, the parks log flume and an other famous coaster "Curse Of Novgorod".
With lakes and scenic views, this area, not only offers a change of pace, but perhaps a chance for calmer moment within the hustle and bustle of the park day.
So thats my take on a few of the many great areas within the park, but now its over to @captain.coaster95 to take you through the top 3 attractions!
Top Attractions
- Schwur des Kärnan
- Highlander
- Nessie
Speaking of Hansa-Park in Germany, one special thing is definitely its location next to the Baltic sea. On some oft he rides and attractions you can enjoy a beautiful view over the water – starting with Highlander.
Highlander is the world’s tallest Gyro-Drop-Tower and part of the park‘s skyline since 2019. With a height of incredible 120 meters and a drop of 103 meters it’s quite impressive. In addition they added the so called „Tilt“ and „Super-Tilt“. In both modes you go up to the highest point and the seats start to tilt 15° – so you hang a little bit. What’s the difference now between the both tilt types? While your seats go back to straight position, in „Super-Tilt“ you stay in that position and go all the way down to the ground.
If you have a look from the ground, this drop-tower is built in the centre of Nessie’s helix. As well for the season 2019 it got repainted and the station got a well-deserved new theming, which looks stunning. You have the chance to go around Highlander while the passenger go up slowly or rush to the ground. The second crossover moment is with the family coaster “Royal Scotsman” going through the looping of Nessie. What makes this element and the coaster special? – You have no shoulder restraints and the g-forces pushes you into the seat, which gives you a special thrill on the first ever ride.
The special thrill you also have on “Der Schwur des Kärnan”. It’s a worldwide phenomenon and since 2015 enthusiasts from every country come and ride this massive coaster. The theming is impressive – especially inside the tower with some nice pre-show sections. Before entering the station, you’re standing in a room, which is separated into 4 rows. After another show section, the people of each row are chosen randomly. The ride did not even start yet and you’re already impressed. Next you enter a completely empty and quiet station, which gives you that thrilling feeling. As the train starts to move, it goes directly to its vertical lift – so you go all the way facing up. Right before you pass the top, it suddenly stops, and you just hang there. With a little video section – matching the theming – the tension grows and suddenly you drop almost 70 meters backwards. This is unique in the world! After going up the lift a second time, it goes all the way down and outside with a massive speed and very close to the floor. This outdoor section now is separated into a higher and a lower part. The higher part consists of some pretty figures before going down to the section closer to the ground, which gives you a good speed. Before entering the station again, there is a little goodie in form of a heartline roll – who does not love a good hangtime moment?
Last but not least we have “Fluch von Novgorod”. This Euro-Fighter model from Gerstlauer got everything. Besides the most intense launch in Germany and a 97° beyond vertical drop, you can experience a complete dark section, vertical lift and a heartline roll. Theming is also a thing. A nice themed pre-show section after leaving the station gives you that kind of a scary feeling you want in such a beast. All in all the theming is well executed throughout the queue and the station itself and makes this ride definitely a bucket list coaster.
So there you have it folks, thank you for checking out our collaboration all about the wonderful Hansa Park!
