Ride Review: Is This The UK's Most Intense Water Ride?!

With the sun shinning and the heat beating down on the beautiful lands of Blighty, it occurred to me, that this would be the most perfect time to try out some water rides.

The Uk has had a somewhat shortage of these as of recent years.

In fact their really is only a few major water based attractions in the UK!

Out of all the log flumes, rapids and boat rides in the country... one stands out as always being on top.

Drenched at Oakwood in Wales!

This (in my opinion) deserves the title of number one water ride in the country. There are many reasons why, but to keep things simple, let me break it down!

Today, I will be focusing on Height, The Drop and The forces, rating the areas out of 10 as usual!

( please remember these are just my views, everyone has different ideas, which is the best part about being in our community of theme park lovers and coaster heads!)

Come along as we take a trip to Oakwood...

Height:

Now while many may be easy deceived by this attraction's seemingly smaller height ( by today's standards ) it isn't until you get up to the very top, where you start to realise just how far and to a height you have come!

Matching Detonator over at Thorpe Park and towering over 100ft high in the air this super splash, should really be renamed a MEGA SPLASH ........ ok yer a bit much.....

The Drop:

How can we not mention the drop it is HUGE!

flying down the chute at a staggering steepness of around 90 degrees vertically down and reaching speeds of 56mph. You just can't beat it.

The Forces:

The forces during the ride are immense and intense!

Coming into the bottom of the drop into the big splash, you truly feel the weight of the wave...

Throughout the ride, there are moments of suspense, weightlessness, G-force and a slight pop of airtime, as you go over the initial lip of the chute!

Just check out those restraints, never had I seen before 'Over The Shoulder' restraints... for a water ride! Awesome!

Stats:

Height: 9/10

Drop: 10/10

Forces 10/10

Wrap Up:

This ride achieves everything for a thrilling water ride...

Yes it lacks in theming a little, but when flying down the water chute at over 50mph, 100ft in the air and a splash big enough to soak a small village..... who is really looking at some rock work...

Do you agree? Whats your favourite water ride?
