Theme Park Mysteries: Chessington's Water Coaster
Today I was pondering over a question...
Whatever happened to the 'Water Coaster' concept at Chessington World Of Adventures?
Some may remember back in 2016, this exciting proposition came into our live via a press pack from the park.
Clearly stating that a "Headline" attraction was needed and desired.
but since then, we have heard nothing about it.
It was due to be a very exciting looking ride, while the specifics were never mentioned, from the concept art it is clear to see, the park was looking to take inspiration from Efteling's Flying Dutchman.
For those of you who have had the opportunity to ride this wonderful coaster / flume hybrid, it mixes epic set pieces, special effects and some very thrilling elements and moments.
While I would speak more about these, I truly feel that this ride is one you need to experience for the first time, not knowing what is going to happen...
So I guess this leads me to my final thought?! What did happen?
Well to use a Disney term, it looks like the park began focusing on ' plussing' the current attractions available, bringing them back to their glory, or even revamping them.
I understand every business has a budget and targets, also that most concepts never get built.
This one just seemed so special and a really exciting investment for the UK market!
However this doesn't rule out the possibility in the future...
Would you like to see a water coaster arrive at Chessington? What would you like to see?
