Yellow But Far From Mellow: Rage Review

Having just got back from my first ever trip down to Adventure Island in Essex, I thought now would be the perfect time to share my thoughts on the park's biggest coaster 'Rage'

First of all, this park is full of suprisingly intense flat rides... I was so mislead by 'time machine' little did I know the amount of 'G's ' I would experience of such a small looking ride! It figuratively and literally took my breath away!

But let's get back to Rage!

As always with my coaster reviews, I will be focusing on 3 main categories... Layout, Elements and Intensity, sharing my thoughts and ranking each out of 10.

( please remember these are only my thoughts, we all have different opinions, which is what makes being a part of the coaster community awesome! Please feel free to share your thoughts with us on our Instagram: @coastersamblog )

Right, Let's dive in!

Layout - Size Isn't Everything

If there was ever a living definition of this slogan, Rage is it.

Being a fairly Eurofighter, when compared to Saw at Thorpe Park, or even Speed at Oakwood, Rage just peaks at the fairly small height of 72 ft.

However, as previously mentioned this doesn't stop it being a great coaster. In fact it seriously picks up some speed and makes for a very smooth and thrilling experience.

It has to be mentioned the track layout is very short, due to being confined and packed into a fairly small space, would would be great to see, is a re-shuffle of some of the other rides in the park, or perhaps the removal of the tube slides, which would allow the coaster some room for possible expansion, especially considering, to many, it's the main attraction of the park.

8/10

Elements - Hangtime, Hangtime, Hang............Time

If you haven't guessed already, Ive got to mention my favourite moment of the coaster by far, was the hang time coming into the peak of the first loop!

Never have I ever experienced such weightlessness in the middle of a loop, being upside down, it was a lovely amount of hang time, so much so, it almost gave a slight moment of calm in a overall chaotic environment!

I just loved it and I can't rave about it enough!

The other elements that stood out for me were the banked stall turn and the in-line twist, but both of those are more traditional to a Eurofighter layout.

Personally for me, what made it was the hangtime!

9/10

Intensity

While I personally think this ride lacks a lot of intensity, I don't think that is a bad thing...

I don't know if this is just me, but I found the whole coaster to be uniquely relaxing and totally smooth... again something that is almost unheard of when talking about a Eurofighter!

I would say for anyone going to ride this one, don't go expecting an intense ride, expect a relaxing coaster experience that literally makes you feel like your floating!.... in parts...

6/10
