A Childhood At Chessington: Who Remembers These?

For Today's article, I wanted to take some time to reflect on a few attractions that really stand out in my memories of going to Chessington World Of Adventures as a child.

For myself and many out there, Chessington was a staple when it came to "Easter Holidays" special treats!

A day out at Chessington was always and still is to this very day exciting!

So I wanted to talk about 3 attractions/ areas or experiences that will forever remind me of a Childhood At Chessington!

See If you can remember these olden but golden attractions and please share your own happy memories with us on our insta: @coastersamblog or leave a comment below!

Action Man Assault Course

My memories must have been around the 2001/2002 period, as I remember loving Action Man!

Having loved the figures and playsets... Here was an attraction that you could actually help Action Man!

The experience its self was fairly simple. A pre-show into a one way system outside play zone.

From what I can remember it was one of the more basic attractions at the park... But as a kid all you need is that imagination and your away, this was a source of so much joy for a young coastersam!

Beanoland

Who can forget Beanoland!

Filled with all kinds of experiences and smaller rides all based off the Beano comics this was an area that will live on in our hearts!

I remember after years of wondering if it was a good idea, I finally conquered 'The Big Bus' as I used to call it!

Most of the attractions still remain in the now 'Wild Asia' area of the park, it's wonderful to still be able to ride 'Monkey Swingers' or  'Billy's Whizzer' (as it was formally known) and still get that moment of childhood joy!

Hocus Pocus Hall

Now back in the early naughties when this attraction first debuted it was the height of technological advancement and excitement!

Moving through the manor house at Chessington was one thing. But having a mirror maze and 3D walls was just on another level for the time!

Of course looking at it now, it looks outdated and the graphics used throughout were basic. But it was such a special experience that offered something totally different to any theme park out there in the UK at the time!

Wrap Up:

So there we have it, just a few of some of my fav's from way back when!

Of course a special mention has to be given to the BubbleWorks for being a childhood staple too!
