Could We See A New Hyper In The UK?
For today I wanted to have more of a discussion..
Be that a discussion with myself... as... well there is nobody else around me...
But I hope this will perhaps open up the floor to future debate either in the comments below or on the various socials this will go out too.
So here we go... ( deep Breath)
Could we see a new Hyper in the UK?
This Idea has been toyed with for so many years, I wanted to share my own personal thoughts!
Which Park?
Ok, so I think we need to be realistic here...
We need to honestly think about which park this would be possible at...
There are three that stand out to me:
Alton Towers
Blackpool Pleasure Beach ( BPB)
Thorpe Park
So let's break this down into if these could work?!
BPB
Starting with BPB I think we need to consider the fact that the entire park is well built on the beach...
This has a strong impact to wha get's built...
Unless the ground was completely re-enforced, which I think would be a whole project in itself, Im not sure it would be plausible or even feasible here.
Plus they already have The Big One!
Moving on...
Alton Towers
While there is more than enough space here for a hyper.. the issue is ( as many are aware) the height restriction.
Towers can not build anything above tree level, so like most of their coasters, they have to dig into the ground to get that hight and track length...
While they could in theory still do this... would it still have the effect of being a HYPER... if it was only 100 ft above ground level?!..
It would be great to see what amazing coasters towers come up with in the future!
Thorpe Park
So finally ending on Thorpe Park.
This is the park that I think is most likely to ever see a Hyper.
In terms of height they have a max building restriction of 300ft due to heathrow being so close.
They have the space... The island next to the swarm would be a perfect fit!
It would fit perfectly into their thrill demographic, young adults and teens!
Plus, who can forget this interesting piece that went around a couple years ago!
Sending the enthusiast community into a spin!
Wrap Up:
So let's open this up then?!
What do you guys think?
Could we see a Hyper in the UK? If so what and where?
